CHILDREN & YOUTH

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY

At First Christian Church, we believe that all children are treasures from God and have been blessed with unique talents and gifts. With this in mind, the Children's Christian Education Committee strives to provide a loving and nurturing environment in which each child can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, building a personal relationship with Him. In accordance with God's Word, our mission is to provide Christian Education for all children, focusing on foundational Biblical teaching and imparting Christian values which encourage individual faith development and spiritual growth.

CHILD CARE DURING WORSHIP SERVICES

First Service Child Care - 8:30 a.m., there will be child care for children ages Birth - 4 years old available for those families who worship at the Contemporary Service. Come to Room 100 in the Education Wing at 8:20 a.m., where you will be greeted by an adult and a teen volunteer. Your child will be registered in child care from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. At the conclusion of worship, your child will then be taken to his/her Sunday School class at the 9:30 a.m. hour so you may pick them up after Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. Pass the word about this new child care!

Second Service Child Care - FCC member Stacey Steward, who is the assistant director of KinderCare here in Wadsworth, has developed a weekly curriculum which a hand picked staff of adults and teens will be teaching your child while in child care during the Traditional Service.

Your child will be learning Kingdom principles and Godly characteristics

as they work on projects and participate in group activities. Children ages Birth-Pre-K will be welcome to Rooms 107-102 in the Education Wing.

Our Christian Education Committee diligently reviewed and hand picked curriculum from Gospel Light Publications based on the following criteria:

1. Age appropriate materials to enhance spiritual growth.
2. Solid Biblical foundation.
3. Clear outline of scope and sequence for each age-level.
4. Material content that relates Biblical knowledge to each individual child’s life as they mature in their faith.

The children's Christian Education Director and Committee and Sunday School teachers have hand picked the curriculum used for Sunday School from publishers such as Gospel Light, Cokesbury, Group Publishing and Larin Individual Bible Study publisher.
